Review:

This is my first review in a while! So do forgive me if I am a little rusty.

I went into this series completely blind. To be honest, it came in a package deal I got! It was a part of the Humble Manga Bundle: Fantasy by Kodansha Comics deal! I must state, this is NOT a sponsored review. My thoughts are my own. I will however speak to you of how wonderful Humble Bundle is. I love this site, as I can find new and interesting things and support not only them, but charity as well!

I knew nothing of the series and decided for it to be my first read, and boy am I glad I did!

The story starts out with our protagonist; the fledgling witch Makoto and her cat familiar Chito. The story is very lighthearted and feels like it really could be something that could happen.

From making friends and giving them dangerous plants to meeting the Harbinger of Spring and her adorable little cousin… I definitely will be continuing this series and suggest this to anyone who loves a little magic with their slice of life!

My Rating: 4/5

Would I/Who would I recommend it (too): Anyone who has a good hankering for some light fantasy and homey feeling reads.

My late January to February TBR!

So it’s been a while since I made one of these!

So, I thought I would shake things up and do one for this month/next month!

I am gonna keep it real simple as I try to push myself back into this wonderful world!

Yes, it’s a bit of a small one with one being Manga and the other being a Graphic Novel… but I am trying to easy myself back in.

What have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments!

Sectional Saturdays #8 So hey, I’m not dead!

Sooo…

I have been off and on for months. Almost a year.

giphy

A lot has happened in a year. A lot.

I actually… have only read 2-3 books since then.

tumblr_nc4piov8x91tfbtrwo1_400

I KNOW, I KNOW. >____<;

But, something just… blocked me. I’ve been trying to read, and while I have gotten some done…

I just can’t focus.

giphy1

But it’s not all bad.

I actually have started some self improvements.

I’m in therapy for one.

giphy2

And it hopefully will help me better myself.

I have also made some really great friends. I see these friendships lasting for a very very long time. They have kept me whole while others try to break me even further.

I will have to give thought to what I want to do with my blog, I still want to do book reviews, but it might not just be it. ^^;

Anyways, I think I might be going for now, I’ve been very distracted in writing this and I don’t want to leave it as a draft. X_X

Sectional Saturdays #4 [4/25/15]

I am so sorry this is a day late, I thought that the browser ate this post!

My last post of this kind was over a month ago… I have good reason! The reason I have been gone is well. I had to have surgery. Before you all get upset and worried:

im-fine-ross

What had happened was, apparently I have massive scar tissue damage from my gastritis and a piece of my dinner got stuck in my esophagus. After hours of trying to remove it without surgery to no avail, I had to go under the knife. They also took a biopsy of my throat, not liking what they saw. Still waiting on the results.

im okay

Other than that, life has been stressful from family things, recovery and just plain bleh.

After the surgery, my lovely family on my fathers side decided that it would be a good idea to gang up on me (lovingly) on Facebook to come visit, even wanting to front the bill since it would take us forever to pay for both my husband and I to get there. Normally, just telling them the truth (we have no ride, no money) lets them know I do want to see them, but this time before I could..

a friend decided to be wonderful.

I am not upset… but we had just planned to try and start getting our life together. Next month we were planning on getting a bed, which we deperately need. We are sleeping on two old ass mattresses (two fulls) and a memory foam on top that is too big for it (a queen sized one). We planned on getting a normal king sized bed and start making payments on it. We planned on updating our kitchen, livingroom and possibly saving to go somewhere this summer close to home.

After seeing all of this… I only felt one thing about our plans.

We had been waiting and waiting. Now we had to put it all on hold. Sure, I get to see my family. On BOTH sides! I was beyond the moon, but we had been waiting YEARS for the opportunity to feel okay doing this.

We had been waiting for everything with what had been happening (Taking care of Nana, us moving and still traveling back and forth at times to see and take care of her, dealing with drama with a friends ex, almost losing our apartment due to our old land lady not processeing our paperwork, Nana’s passing, my glasses breaking, barely making ends meet due to many things, his glasses breaking and my few trips to the hospital including the last and so much more) to calm, and it felt RIGHT… then this happens.

Now, any money we had and were going to have had to go to: Clothes, gas money, travel stuff, making sure everything was secure and just UGH.

Then, my wonderful friend told me her car might be taken away.

After we get everything sorted there… then my dad tells me we have to post pone it cause he needs to do medical stuff.

I understand, I do… just… it was all at once and I just want to scream. So, now Austin and I CAN do all this… I just want a blanket and cookie.

All this stress was bad. It even broke my face out.

Other than that, I have slowly been getting back into reading. I have finished 4 books this month. Which I am damn proud of.

I am planning on reading maybe one more this month. Other than that, life had been okay. I plan on doing a review after this post of The Fangirl’s Guide to the Galaxy. 🙂

I guess that is it for now! I will talk to you soon. 🙂

So, haaaaaaaaave you met my friend, Thomas?

So, normally I do not do shout outs, but holy spamoni this man deserves it.

thomas

Meet Thomas. Thomas is the man behind SFReviews, but if you are from BookTube, you probably know him as SFF180; or the guy who does review on SCIFI and Fantasy with the adorabe cat mascot.

This man has been blogging for 14 years! (18, if you count his prepping years!) Because of him, I found new, and exciting books to read. While most of the reviews I follow are for Young Adult, he is more of a wide varity.

Because of him, I have found authors I would have probably never found on my own, like Eliszbeth Bear, Andy Weir, and make me dig deeper into this mysterious man called Scalzi.

His reviews can be short and sweet to lengthy and detailed. He is one of my top go to’s every week, and never dissapoints. I always find something interesting to look up, thanks to him.

Not only is he a good reviewer, he has charisma! Something that some reviewers tend to lack, I know I do at times haha. He is funny, witty and very much takes pride into what he does.

He is also one stellar of a friend!

If he was a book, and this was a review, I would have to give SFF180/SFReviews.net by Thomas M. Wagner an honest 5/5, would recommend to anyone.

He is having a giveaway right now!

I wish you all luck, and early congrats to you, Thomas!

Over and out,

Reisa

So once again I have disappeared into the void…

So, due to a lot of the reasons stated in this video, I have been kind of AFK.

But that does not mean I do not have a lot that I want to share.

I have been reading a lot, and have quite… the physical and digital stack of a haul(s) to show. Not quite sure HOW I am going to do it.

I also have an upcoming safety video coming up! 😀

I will be trying to post a review atleast twice a week for the next few weeks as well. 🙂

Anyways, I better get on it!

So, update to my life…

So, since my computer is up again…

I have been rather busy in the past few weeks! I finished The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkins, the novella Life before Legend by Marie Lu (novella for The Legend Trilogy) and just a bunch of random stuff!

I have decided to take part in the 2014 Goodreads Reading Challange for 50 books! I am hoping to actually surpass it. I only said 50, due to the impossibility of knowing what may or may not happen this year. 🙂

My current readings are:

I plan on finishing them ASAP, a lot of them are half way done or more, I just have to get to them.

Have you read any of these? Can you make me suggestions?

Anyways, I may start book tubing! So that is exciting. 😀

Reisa over and out!
