I haven’t really been updating on my life. It’s not cause I don’t want too!
Life just has been busy as hell! I am lucky if I get a moment to sit down and not worry about if X is going to complicate Y, or if there is enough money to do XYZ. Or if I can get ABC to KYL in time to make sure BLH is done!
Life is kicking my ass.
Nothing bad is happening. It’s just been busy. Life has actually been.. good! We actually have adopted! Here is our sweet boy now:
We named him Ruce! It’s a long story how we got him, that I may write out in another blog post.
So while life is kicking my ass… I am going to force myself to sit down and do what I need for me. For me, that’s reading, writing and gaming. That’s one of the reasons why I started PokeJournal!
If this works out, I may venture off to other games. Who knows?
I am also gonna try to get back into book blogging on here again. SLOWLY. I miss it. I really do. I may cross post the blogs (and mark off that I am when I do).
The stuff on my rant/short story blog, Six of Crows is going to stay there for the most part. While I might cross post some in the future, it’s going to pretty much stay the same.
I know it’s weird having three blogs, but it makes sense for me.
I am weird about certain things.
I hope everyone has been doing well! I would love to know what is going on in your lives!
I do need to apologize. For some reason I just… haven’t been reading. Maybe it’s a side effect of depression? Not quite sure.
I keep trying to push myself to write and read, but nothing seems to stick. I am not quite sure what to do. I want to read. The desire is there; but the drive isn’t. I have even tried audiobooks. Nothing seems to push me to maybe 1, 4 books a year. I don’t understand it. I want to get out of this funk.
WHO WILL BE THE VICTOR?! WHO WILL GET ALL THE BOOKS AND LOVE?!
WHO IS THE BEST OF THE BEST?!?!?
…..
…
..
.
ALL OF US.
We are all awesome in our own rights, why do we feel the need to attack each other?!
SERIOUSLY PEOPLE WHAT THE HECK?!
We all love books. We all love reviewing them. We all love the same things. Why are we bickering?!
If you aren’t happy, and feel the need to put someone on blast PUBLICLY just because you don’t like them, what they do, what they get, the platform they use, how they review… Then maybe you shouldn’t say anything. Maybe you need to improve upon yourself. You work on you, because to throw that kind of shade at someone, in book blogging, booktubing, bookstagraming, anywhere is just freaking wrong.
IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO BE SHADY AND A MEAN GIRL, PLEASE GO VENT SOMEWHERE ELSE.
All of us work for what we want to achieve!
This isn’t aimed at any one person or group. I know there are people who shady reguardless of group they are in. They talk smack about people in their own bubble as well. Venting in private is one thing, but to down someone publicly or a group of people for how they do things, why they do things and what they recieve (followers, arcs, finished copies, attention from publishers, etc) for the work that they do is bad. There is no justifying it. If you feel the need to publicly shame someone, then maybe there is something YOU need to work on yourself.
I started booktubing, book blogging and bookstagraming for one thing:
FRIENDS.
I live in a small town. Not a lot of people I know like to read what I do, to talk about books… Hell the library rarely gets updated. =/ Most people use it just for the internet.
I started my platforms because I wanted to meet new people, and heck. Ya’ll seemed sweeter than honey. Yes, not all of us will get along, but we can be CIVIL. Who cares who gets what? Who cares who gets to goto places? I am tired of all the drama. So many people put so much work into what they do, and it’s disheartening to see all of us bash one another for it.
Can’t we all just start over and try to be friends or at least civil? Seriously. We all love the same thing. We all started our blogs, channels and instagrams for the same reason. Our love of books. The written word! I hate all of us acting like we are different cliques in highschool. We are better than this.
So, I beg of you. Book Bloggers, BookTubers, Bookstagrammers.. Please leave me comments below on your thoughts. How we can work on this. How we can be the family I know we all are. When it comes down to it, we are all just a bunch of book lovers, looking for a place to call home.
All of you rock.
I have made so many wonderful friends over the years on all three platforms. I refuse to be divided, and I am not afraid to stand up and voice my opinion. Because that is what friends do.
So it’s been a bit since I posted one of these, or blogged normally!….
Sorry about that. 😦
We’ve had so much happening in life. From storms, tornadoes, internet outages, drama on the place I used to moderate on Reddit, in real life drama and so much more… I have been exhausted.
Even after everything calmed down, I needed a break… so I took it. I felt so drained. Like I was just…. done. I pretty much holed myself up and didn’t talk to anyone. Barely even my husband! I just wanted me time so bad.
Well, in that span I read 22 books.
22 books.
That is like, most of my goal for the YEAR. Needless to say, I shattered my Goodreads goal haha. A great bunch was graphic novels, but still. I read a LOT. I am very proud of myself.
That being said… I have a lot of book reviews coming. So, you might be getting flooded with reviews over the next week or so. Not quite sure how I will handle this all.
I have read some pretty dang good books, some not so good, and one I didn’t like, but loved the flow!
Have you read anything good, okay or just not your thing lately? Leave me a comment!
Anyways, I have to get to getting. See you around!
So, it has been FOREVER since I posted a Top 5 Wednesday. Hopefully I can remedy that. This list is in no particular order.
1. Anything by John Green.
Now I know I will get a lot of flack for this one, but I just cannot stand the guy or his books. The only one that I kind of liked was The Fault in Our Stars. I have many issues with him that I will address later, maybe.
2. Fifty Shades of Gray series by E.L. James. ‘
Badly written, gets a lot of things wrong, makes abuse look like its a good thing, JUST NO.
3. Anything by Orson Scott Card.
Like John Green, I have a lot of issues with the guy, as I do the next lady.
4. Anything by Kathleen Hale
Just… no.
5. Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace.
This one is more of a… maybe. The book is HUGE and intimidating. I have a friend who can read 800+ page books in a day or two. They took a MONTH to finish this. It’s so big, you could kill someone with it! I want to read it, because of all the good I heard… but its massive.
What are some of the books you will never read? Leave them in the comments below!
So a wonderful friend of mine’s books are on sale!
…Ted? NO NOT TED!
The wonderful Eric Smith’s!
PSSSST ERIC IS CLICKABLE TO GET TO HIS BLOG.
Anyways, his books are on sale, and he is running a contest on his blog! 😀 The Geek’s Guide to Dating is $3.99 and INKED is $1.99 on Kindle, Nook, Kobo, and in the iBookstore!
He is an amazing author and a great friend! 😀 Please give him some loving!
Anyways, it’s time for me to blow this popsicle stand. Got books to read, light saber’s to play with.
So, normally I do not do shout outs, but holy spamoni this man deserves it.
Meet Thomas. Thomas is the man behind SFReviews, but if you are from BookTube, you probably know him as SFF180; or the guy who does review on SCIFI and Fantasy with the adorabe cat mascot.
This man has been blogging for 14 years! (18, if you count his prepping years!) Because of him, I found new, and exciting books to read. While most of the reviews I follow are for Young Adult, he is more of a wide varity.
Because of him, I have found authors I would have probably never found on my own, like Eliszbeth Bear, Andy Weir, and make me dig deeper into this mysterious man called Scalzi.
His reviews can be short and sweet to lengthy and detailed. He is one of my top go to’s every week, and never dissapoints. I always find something interesting to look up, thanks to him.
Not only is he a good reviewer, he has charisma! Something that some reviewers tend to lack, I know I do at times haha. He is funny, witty and very much takes pride into what he does.
He is also one stellar of a friend!
If he was a book, and this was a review, I would have to give SFF180/SFReviews.net by Thomas M. Wagner an honest 5/5, would recommend to anyone.
He is having a giveaway right now!

I wish you all luck, and early congrats to you, Thomas!
